“Can you pick the pure Australian White?"
Many times we get asked what will the hair pattern be like, when Australian White rams are joined to woolly ewes.
In this particular mob of Border Leicester x Merino ewes that are currently lambing (approx 100 sheep), every lamb born so far, is fully haired, and displaying the vigour that the Australian White is known for.
The answer is the second lamb (not being held). Both lambs are fully haired, and showing all traits of the Australian White. The only significant difference is the shape of the head and smoothness over the poll.
